About Wilna
I am a Marriage and Family Therapy intern, and I am passionate about helping individuals and couples feel more connected to themselves, their relationships and the lives they are building. I work with clients navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship and intimacy concerns, sexuality and sexual shame, faith transitions, identity questions and major life changes. I also have a special interest in supporting young adults and women through marriage, motherhood, pregnancy, postpartum adjustment and the rest of the perinatal experience.
My approach to therapy is warm, compassionate, curious and collaborative. Therapy should be a place where you can be honest about what you are experiencing without fear of judgment. I want to understand not only what is difficult for you right now, but also the relationships, experiences, beliefs and patterns that have shaped how you see yourself and the world around you.
As a Marriage and Family Therapy clinician, I look at concerns within the larger context of your relationships, family, culture and life experience. The people and systems around us shape how we understand ourselves, connect with others and respond to what life brings. Together we can explore those influences while naming the strengths, values and resources you already carry with you.
I am originally from Haiti, and culture, family and community are deeply meaningful to me. I want a space where clients from every background feel respected and able to bring their full selves into therapy. I also recognize faith can be important and complicating in life; for clients who would like to bring faith into therapy, I am glad to do that thoughtfully and welcome clients who may be questioning or stepping away from beliefs that once felt certain.
My therapeutic style is calm, easygoing, straightforward and genuine. There is room in therapy for difficult emotions, meaningful reflection, humor and simply being human. You do not need to have everything figured out before you begin. My goal is a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can understand yourself better, strengthen your relationships and move toward change at a pace that feels right for you.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, running and crocheting.
